Max Chilton will be testing with Force India at next week’s Young Driver session in Abu Dhabi, it has been confirmed by the Silverstone-based team on Tuesday.
The collective test will take place across three days, following on from the penultimate round of the 2011 season, with the 20-year-old from Surrey – younger brother of BTCC race winner Tom – driving on Tuesday and Thursday.
The outing will be Chilton’s second for Force India, having already driven the Mercedes-powered car for a straight-line aerodynamics run in September.
“I can’t wait to get back in the car,” he says. “I’ve spent time with the team already, so I’ve got a feel for the way they work and I hope I can get up to speed quickly. Abu Dhabi is a track I’ve raced at a few times in GP2, so that will help. It’s a big opportunity for me and I just want to enjoy the experience and take in as much as I can.”
