Force India hoping to retain di Resta

Force India will retain Britain’s Paul di Resta for the 2012 season, should the driver wish to stay on-board. That is according to Team Principal and CEO Vijay Mallya, who claims he would be ‘foolish’ to lose the Scot at the end of his maiden season.
“I haven't put Paul in the car without having clear options going forward and he is also very, very happy in this environment and in this team,” Mallya explained to the Press Association of the reigning DTM Champion.
“I would be foolish to let go of a star, so we'll talk later in the year, but I feel the odds are more in favour of Paul remaining with Force India.
“When I first signed him up I told him we wanted a commitment which he was happy to give and so I was happy to give him a break.”
From di Resta’s nine Formula 1 races so far, the West Lothian man’s best results are his pair of tenth places in the season-opening Australian and Malaysian Grands Prix. Prior to 2013, rumours continue to link the 25-year-old with the position currently held by Michael Schumacher at Mercedes GP.
